Taking care of the mind to create better games: Fabamaq’s Mental Health Month
People's well-being is the starting point for creating the best games. This is the premise we believe in at Fabamaq, an IT company operating in the global casino games market. In October, we celebrated Mental Health Month with a series of initiatives that reinforce our commitment to creating a more balanced, healthy, and human working environment.
Fabamaq’s Mental Health Month calendar in 2025 included multiple practical activities that invited our Gamers to take different breaks from their software development routine. Each initiative allowed people to explore their creativity and reconnect with the present while learning something new.
Creative embroidery: giving shape to what balances us
With the Creative Embroidery Workshop, led by our Gamer Catarina Menezes, the challenge was simple: choose a word that symbolized balance and well-being and transform it into a personalized piece.
More than learning a technique, this moment was about slowing down, reflecting, and discovering how the act of creating can be a form of self-care. Each stitch of thread represented a reminder that mindfulness is also built through simple gestures.
"I never thought that doing embroidery could be so relaxing. I left the session with a clear head and motivated to continue.” - Beatriz Couto, Graphic Design Coordinator
Soft skills and emotional intelligence: the power of empathy at work
Team24 led a session on the development of Soft Skills and Emotional Intelligence, exploring how self-awareness and empathy can strengthen relationships and improve team dynamics.
In a collaborative environment, such as a casino game development software house with multidisciplinary teams like Fabamaq, these skills are essential for promoting more human connections and creating workplaces where every person feels valued.
“It was a safe space to reflect on ourselves and how we deal with others. I left wanting to listen more and react less.” - Sérgio Maia. People Business Partner
Autumn crochet: creativity with purpose
In the Crochet Workshop led by our Gamer Maria Duarte, participants created autumn-inspired coasters and candle covers. These pieces, in addition to their practical utility, carried a clear message: breaks can also be productive moments.
Without the need for previous experience, this activity was an opportunity to experiment, learn, and rediscover the pleasure of making something with one's own hands, away from screens, stimulating other dimensions of our brain and creativity.

Nutrition and mental health: what we eat also impacts how we feel
The knowledge-sharing session with nutritionist Marta Pinto addressed the direct link between diet, energy, and emotional balance.
In a practical and accessible way, this session focused on Nutrition in Mental Health, showed how small daily choices can have a positive impact on well-being, and how we feel inside and outside of work.

A continuous commitment to well-being
More than just a set of events, Mental Health Month at Fabamaq reinforced the company's continuous commitment to balance, empathy, and creating an environment where everyone can grow and feel good.
Throughout the year, we keep this commitment alive through:
- Free and confidential psychological support, available to all Gamers through the partnership with Team24;
- Free sports activities, such as Sanda Box and Mind & Body classes four days a week, promoting physical and mental balance.
Because, for us, great victories happen when we are well with ourselves and with others.
If you are looking for a place where innovation goes hand in hand with well-being, where people matter as much as the code they write, discover the open opportunities at Fabamaq and join the team.
